From River Days to Fishcamp

Trey Waters & Kevin Jurgens

Fishcamp was born from a lifelong love of fly fishing, deep Montana roots, and the desire to share a truly special stretch of river with others.

Kevin first fished the Missouri River decades ago during his college years, but his connection to this land goes back even further. His uncle Barry—an avid fly fisherman and longtime steward of the property—held onto this piece of riverbank for years before finally agreeing to sell it to Kevin 19 years ago (after much persistence). From then on, Kevin spent summers here in a camper, falling deeper in love with the water, the landscape, and the rhythm of Montana life.

It didn’t take long for friends to find their way to the river, including Trey Waters—Kevin’s best friend and a fellow fly fishing devotee. After years of sharing the property informally, the two decided to partner up and build something lasting. Together, they created Fishcamp: a refined, comfortable place where guests could come and experience the same sense of peace, connection, and adventure that’s drawn them back here year after year.

Kevin was born in Bozeman, and his family has deep Montana ties. Returning each summer feels like coming home—and now, Fishcamp offers a way to extend that welcome to others. Whether you’re casting for rising trout, watching the sun slide over the canyon walls, or simply sitting still by the river, we hope this place brings you the same magic it’s given us.
